I’ve been a slacker to my IRL project the last few weeks, and I’d like to apologize to myself.
But I have good excuses! So hopefully I can find it in my heart to forgive myself as well.
Was in the hospital for several days because doctor thought there were complications with my pregnancy (I’m 33 weeks), but as it turns out there was NOTHING wrong and I wasted 3 days in a hospital bed watching bad cable. Then George, my IRL partner in crime, had to get sick too and went to the hospital! (What is our problem??) THEN he up and moved to New York! Can I catch a break please?
The man and I have been busy bees getting ready for the big day and parenthood… I finally planned my babyshower for 2 weeks from now, and we wrote out a new monthly budget this morning. All of this is making me feel very old. Last night we had eaten dinner, watched a movie and taken a shower all before 11pm. Made me feel like my grandmother. Once I pop I need to get out and remind myself I’m young.
Also, I feel like Winnie the Pooh. My belly is so big my shirts aren’t covering it anymore. There is no more room in there!!!
Ok getting side tracked!
Here is the state of the union for IRL:
Title, subtitle, and concept have been finalized! First big step on making this feel real to me :) Chapter titles will be other acronyms like “LOL” or “OMG” and will have stories (from you!) that capture that feeling. (Good call Georgy!)
I’ve begun writing a forward for the front of the book, explaining how I was lead to take on this project.
Tentative cover design ideas, I like what we have so far!
Next on the IRL agenda:
WE NEED YOUR STORIES!!! Please follow me and keep updated on our on-going project, and submit your blogs! Remember you can email me your stories at reallife.blogger@gmail.com with as many submissions as you want! Requirements are that the story is true, and you wrote it for your blog. Simple. Every other aspect is negotiable.
I would like to get some contracts made for the writers of stories that will be included in the book. Basically it’s going to say, ‘yes my story is true, yes I wrote it, and yes I consent to have it published.’ Again, simple.
I am thinking of branching out beyond Tumblr to spread the word and hunt for writers! There are tons of blogs outside Tumblr that I’m sure are amazing.
Also am considering a Facebook fanpage or group for IRL. Might put that off until I grow the project a tad more. We shall see!
Down the line: SELF PUBLICATION! My dream being realized :) going to have to start saving my pennies cause it’s going to cost me some cash-money up front, but worth it!

We’ve had a few stumbles, but I think we really have something going here. So if you’ve got a story, we’ve got the time to read it.
